The world lost one of the best mothers when Bess died at age 39 in 1932 of throat cancer.
My father, Ralph Sr.was age 22 and Earle Waite never could replace the love lost to this terrible disease..
Bess was born in Sandy Creek 1893 and raised in upstate New York. She was the daughter of a Blacksmith John Dexter Osborn. Her mother Elizabeth Massey, died in 1902 at the young age of 34. Bess was 9 at the time. The cause of her death is not known to us.
Earle Waite was from Adams, New York and Earle went to Syracuse University to study engineering, Earle graduated and married Bess Osborn age 18 in 1911.. Their first child was Donald in 1912. then came Ralph 1915 and Marion in 1916.
They had 21 years together,
